Here is the highlight of the trip. Dulce (sweet). We attended the Papal Audience this morning at Paul VI auditorium. Our presence was announced to the Holy Father after which we stood and sang the first verse of "Faith of Our Father" to him, "Faith of our fathers, Holy Faith, we will be true to thee till death". The Holy Father waved to us before and after the song. He then gave an address in English and at the end thanked us "the priests of the Institute for Continuing Theological Eduction on Sabbatical" for coming and he waved to us again! See how much fun the Holy Father can be, he is truly a good sport! The Holy Father was so joyous throughout the event where he gave an address in several languages to national groups and spoke to them in their own tongue; English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish to name a few. He would smile broadly and wave vigorously. Can you imagine having such energy in your 86th year? Speaking so many languages? Very impressive. There were also several bands that played for him, which he particularly enjoyed especially those in from Bravaria, his home.
Here are some pictures.

This photo I took while the Holy Father was giving his address in Italian. Remembering my Sunday Post wherein I called him the 'German Shepherd'. Remember too the press call him 'God's Rottweiler'. Now look closely at the bottom of the Jumbo-tron. Do you see the top of the Swiss Guard's Pike, doesn't it look like a German Shepherd at attention????!!!!!!! Right in the middle of the page of the Holy Father's address! Now how auspicious (in the words of the ancient Romans) is that!!
